Privacy Policy
Last updated: 30 May 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Haun Player ("the app", "we", "us") handles information when you use it on macOS. We built Haun Player to be privacy-first: it is a media player, and we designed it so that your sensitive data stays on your own devices and in your own iCloud account.
1. Summary
Haun Player does not track you, contains no advertising, and includes no third-party analytics SDKs. We operate no servers that receive your personal data. Your provider credentials are stored in the macOS Keychain, and optional sync uses your own private iCloud.
2. What we don't collect
The app's privacy manifest declares no tracking and no collected data types. Specifically, Haun Player does not:
- collect, sell, or share your personal information;
- use advertising identifiers or run any ads;
- embed third-party analytics, attribution, or tracking SDKs;
- send your IPTV credentials, playlists, watch history, or favorites to any server operated by us.
3. Data stored on your device
To work as a player, Haun Player stores the following locally on your Mac:
- Provider credentials (Xtream Codes username/password or M3U URLs) — saved in the macOS Keychain.
- Profiles, favorites and watch progress — saved in the app's local storage so your lists and resume positions persist.
- Cached playlists, categories and images — stored temporarily on disk so the app opens quickly; this cache can be cleared at any time and expires automatically.
- App preferences — your settings, such as the active profile and subtitle options.
This information stays on your device unless you enable iCloud sync (below). Deleting the app removes its local data.
4. iCloud & Apple sign-in
Signing in with Apple is optional and is used only to enable cross-device sync. If you enable it, Haun Player uses Apple's iCloud Key-Value Store and CloudKit to sync your profiles and favorites between your own Macs.
- This data is stored in your private iCloud database, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
- We do not have access to your iCloud contents.
- Sign in with Apple shares only an opaque user identifier with the app; we do not receive your name or email through it.
5. Your IPTV provider
Haun Player connects directly from your Mac to the IPTV server or playlist URL you configure. When you log in or stream, your requests (including your credentials and IP address) go to that provider, not to us. Your provider's handling of your data is governed by their privacy policy and terms. We are not affiliated with, and do not control, any provider.
6. Purchases
The free trial and one-time purchase are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. We never see or store your payment details. Purchase and trial status is validated through your Apple account; see Apple's Privacy Policy for details.
7. Children
Haun Player is a general-audience media player and is not directed to children under 13. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
